What we do not do

Plenty of online stores do the following, so it is worth being explicit that this one does not:

  • We do not run advertising or behavioural tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook pixel, and no advertising tag on this site.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information, and never have.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you or pass your data to ad networks.
  • We do not send marketing text messages.

If any of this changes, we will update this page before the change takes effect.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • When you order: name, email address, shipping address, phone number, and the contents of your order.
  • When you subscribe to emails: your email address.
  • When you contact us: your email address and whatever you write.
  • When you submit a review: the name or initial you choose to display, and your review.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser user-agent, device type, language, and country. For an email subscription we record these at signup and at confirmation, because we need to be able to show that consent was genuinely given.
  • Referral data: the site you arrived from and the page you landed on, stored alongside an order. We use it to understand which pages lead to purchases. It is our own internal record and is not shared with any ad network.

Payment information

Card details are entered directly into Stripe or PayPal and go to them, not to us. We never receive or store your full card number. We keep a payment reference, the amount, the currency, and whether the payment succeeded, so that we can match a payment to an order and issue refunds.

What we use it forLegal basis (UK/EU GDPR)
Taking payment, shipping orders, handling returns, warranty claims and refundsPerformance of a contract with you
Sending order confirmations, shipping notices and refund noticesPerformance of a contract
Sending marketing emailsYour consent, given by clicking the link in our confirmation email
Answering your questionsOur legitimate interest in supporting customers
Preventing fraud and abuse of discount codesOur legitimate interest in protecting the business
Understanding which pages lead to ordersOur legitimate interest in improving the site
Keeping accounting and tax recordsA legal obligation

Email subscriptions

We use double opt-in. When you submit your address we send a confirmation email, and you are added to the list only once you click the link in it. Until you do, nothing further is sent.

We do this so that an address is never subscribed by someone who does not own it. We record the time, IP address, and browser of both the signup and the confirmation as evidence that consent was given.

You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any marketing email. Unsubscribing stops marketing email only — it does not stop messages about an order you have placed, because those are part of completing your purchase.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what the site needs in order to work. There are no analytics or advertising cookies on this site.

You can clear or block these in your browser settings, but checkout will not work without them.

Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs in order to do its job. None of them may use your information for their own marketing.

ProviderWhat they receiveWhy
StripePayment and contact detailsCard payment processing
PayPalPayment and contact detailsPayPal payment processing
BrevoEmail address and message contentSending order and subscription emails
VercelTechnical request dataWebsite hosting and delivery
Our database hostOrder and subscriber recordsStoring the data behind the site
Shipping carriersName, address, phone numberDelivering your parcel

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

If the business is ever sold or reorganised, customer records may transfer to the buyer, who would remain bound by this policy.

International transfers

We operate from Hong Kong, and our providers operate in various countries including the United States and the European Union. Your information will therefore be transferred and stored outside your own country.

Where information is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on the providers' approved transfer mechanisms — for Stripe, PayPal, Brevo and Vercel this is typically the Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard set out in their data processing terms.

How long we keep it

RecordRetention
Orders, payments, refundsAs long as tax and accounting law requires, then deleted
Email subscribersUntil you unsubscribe, plus a record of that unsubscribe so we do not email you again
Unconfirmed signupsDeleted once the confirmation link expires unused
Support emailsAs long as needed to handle your case and any follow-up
ReviewsFor as long as they are published, unless you ask us to remove yours

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it
  • Stop marketing to you, at any time
  • Object to or restrict how we use it
  • Receive a copy in a portable format

If you are in the UK or EEA, these are your rights under the GDPR. You may also withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are in California, you may request the categories and specific pieces of information we have collected, request deletion, and you are protected against being treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so there is no opt-out of sale for us to offer.

Email support@trymrjoint.com to make a request. We reply within one business day and complete requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first — usually by asking you to write from the address used on the order.

Do Not Track

Browsers send Do Not Track signals inconsistently, and there is no agreed standard for responding to them. Since this site carries no advertising or analytics tracking at all, there is nothing here for such a signal to switch off.

Security

Traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Payment details go directly to Stripe or PayPal and are never stored on our systems. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to run the shop, protected by individual logins.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it took effect at the top. If we ever start using analytics or advertising tracking, we will say so here before turning it on.
