Different by design
Mrjoint makes one thing: a knee brace.
Not a catalogue of braces. Not a line of supports for every joint. One product, designed from the ground up rather than picked out of a supplier's catalogue and given a logo.
Why it exists
Theo was a track and field athlete. After a knee injury he went through the braces everybody goes through — the two-strap ones, the three-strap ones, the ones that promise everything on the packaging.
They all did the same things. They slid down. They needed pulling back up mid-walk. They pressed into the back of his knee. They were hot, bulky, and obvious under trousers. And the only way to make one of them hold tighter was to make it squeeze harder.
At some point the obvious thought arrived: the problem is not your knee. The problem is the brace.
So instead of buying another one, he redesigned it.
What changed
Four straps instead of two. A conventional brace anchors in two or three places, so everything in between has to be held by compression. Mrjoint anchors in four, and the straps pull against each other. The support comes from the structure — which is why it can hold firmly without being cranked tight.
Four spiral springs instead of a rigid strip. Two on each side. They resist the knee rolling inward or outward, and — the part people notice first — they store energy as the knee bends and release it as you straighten. Standing up takes less out of you than it does without the brace.
An open back instead of a strap across it. Nothing bunches when you bend. Nothing traps heat when you wear it for hours.
None of that is a new material or a secret ingredient. It is just a better mechanical arrangement of ordinary parts. That is the whole idea, and it is why the brand line is Different by design.
Who it is for
People who want to keep moving. Getting up off the couch, taking the stairs, standing through a long shift, walking the dog, playing on a Saturday.
Not elite athletes — though the design was pushed hardest in sports where the knee takes the most lateral load, and it held.
